The Farmers at Worlds End support the project and the Farm Director in the daily operations of a hand-scale diversified farm as part of a team of 4-5 staff/community members. This role requires hands-on experience with germination, flower and vegetable growing, and livestock care including poultry and sheep management. (Willing to teach any of the above tasks to motivated/hardworking learners.)

Note: This is not a market garden or industrial farm operation. This is a series of unusual/unconventional food and pleasure gardens whose purpose is to feed the community at Worlds End School and demonstrate that participating in our own survival and identifying ourselves within a complex ecosystem is a rich, creative act.

We prioritize a gentle approach to the land, where healthy and diversified ecosystems take precedence over efficiency. We handwater and do not till in our <1 acre of cultivated vegetables and flowers.

The role requires repetitive heavy lifting and digging; general physical stamina and a general willingness and positive attitude. We champion good, direct communication: avoidance of conflict or passive aggressiveness are not tolerated.
